Prometheus movie review

Prometheus, the new prequel to “Alien”, echoes one of the lost elements in the science fiction of today. It is your prerogative if you want to pay extra to watch the third dimension especially when even two would do just fine. Director Ridley Scott is back to a familiar territory, introducing the first Prometheus to the audience, or “the Engineers” who are muscular humanoids with big sclera-less eyes.

Prometheus” is based on the story of Xenomorphs right from the very start. And, after watching the film, you will see that it isn’t really about the aliens. The story revolves around the people involved in the wreckage of a huge inter-galactic journey. Film’s writer, Damon Lindelof and Scott wanted the story to stray away from the original “Alien,” and develop its own story. The story moves on intelligently, in a simple and inquisitive manner. But post the midpoint the film somehow slows down, but still keeps the audience captivated.

prometheus engineer 300x209 Prometheus Reviews It is about an archaeologist’s couple trying to look into our origins, Charlie Holloway and Elizabeth Shaw. Shaw and Holloway are lovers, too and trying to find the answer to where did humans come from. A senior uber-rich man named Peter Weyland (Guy Pierce) funds the expedition, and the creation of a new scientific vessel named Prometheus.

They discover a star map that leads them to a distant moon tracking an alien world. Their mission, although scientific in nature, is still ill-defined. The group of 17 has a resident cyborg, David, (Michael Fassbender). And surprisingly the whole team is minus any weapons!

To wrap up Prometheus movie review, like its simulated predecessor Alien, is aesthetically noteworthy; its horror is more terrestrial. It seems you are relatively safer in the space but when you touchdown on a stranded planet then it a different story altogether.

Tamara - Character Profile

Tamara is a beautiful and powerful warrior from another universe accessible only through the "Auditum Headset."  She is first seen in one of Jacob's dreamworlds, and later becomes his dimensional guide.

A citizen of the "Summerlands," Tamara lives in a realm where people have advanced powers and abilities using only their thoughts.  She demonstrates this in combat by leaping extremely vast distances, and dematerializing at will.

Tamara anticipates Jacob's arrival, and soon reveals that her world is in danger, and so is Jacob's.  Over time, a love develops between them, as Jacob trains and prepares himself to stop the impending onslaught.  Tamara spends much of her time helping Jacob train and reach his highest potential.  She hopes this will be enough to stop the great evil now unleashed.

A destructive entity known as Luzige has awoken and plans on destroying both of their worlds.  His motivation is causing fear, and achieves this through total enslavement and punishment.  Now, it's a race against time as Tamara and Jacob attempt to stop Luzige before it's too late.

Jacob Cross - Character Profile

Jacob Cross is a research scientist working for the Netex Corporation.  He is an average, educated professional who got involved with a covert government project which changed his life.  He was hired by Netex due to his background in harmonics research, and was thought to have the skills to get the "Auditum Headset Project" off the ground.

His research uncovered more than he bargained for.  The headset not only worked as designed, it did something else entirely... it opened a portal into another dimension.  At first, not being sure that the effects of the headset were real, Jacob questioned the technology and his very sanity, but once the two dimensions started crossing over into each other, it was impossible to deny.

In the other dimension, a warrior female named Tamara awaited his arrival, and shared with him his intricate destiny.  It was with her that Jacob learned of his past, and his inevitable future.  She demonstrated powers of unimaginable force, and showed him his ability to do the same.  By being armed with this knowledge and skill, Jacob was prepared to take on the demon threatening both of their worlds, the unstoppable Luzige.
