Kindness is Powerful
Mark Twain said it best when he said, “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” What could be more powerful than something that reaches and touches every single one of us? A true act of kindness is something that is done for no other reason than to be kind to someone whether you believe they deserve it or not.
Some of the most powerful people in the world have been known to believe deeply in the power of kindness. The Dalai Lama is amongst the most significant figures and he said, “My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.” With this religion he has inspired millions of people to follow in his footsteps and do good in the world.
Princess Diana who was well known as ‘The People’s Princess’ for her compassion and her ability to relate to the public said many things of kindness including: “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”
This is the true power of kindness, its contagiousness. If a philosophy of kindness can inspire an entire religion then just imagine the effect it could have on your personal life or your business. People want to be treated with kindness and will return to the places where they are. Think of the places you love to be more than anywhere and they are undoubtedly the places that you are treated with the most kindness like your grandma’s house or your loved one’s arms.
Kindness is a form of positive energy and it is said that when you put positive energy out there you’ll receive it back tenfold. It is the law of attraction and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t exercise this philosophy for the benefit of your business.
Once you start thinking kind thoughts and forcing unkind ones out of your head you’ll find that you start attracting the type of people who are energizing to be around. These are the type of people you want as customers because they will continue to feed your business with positive energy and spread the word to people they know.
There is absolutely no downside to kindness. The more you give it, the more you get back and the happier and less stressed out you become – that’s power.
