From Lack To Abundance

How Do I Change My Thinking From Scarcity To Abundance?

by: Robyn Simpson

There are several things you can do. The first thing I recommend is that you start a daily Grati-Tude practice. This simply means taking 5-10 minutes every day to take note of what you can be grateful for. It doesn’t matter how big or small – just becoming consciously aware of what you already have in your life that is good and abundant will start to change your thinking from scarcity to abundance.

Make a list of at least 100 things you are grateful for – this will challenge you to think past the usual material things and stretch your mind to go beyond the obvious. For example, I’m grateful for clean water and fresh air, right through to the apartment I live in. I’m grateful for my partner who makes me laugh every day, and the smell of a fresh frangipani. No matter how big or small – there will be hundreds of things you can be grateful for which will help you realise how abundant your life really is.

Another thing you can do is to define what abundance really means to you. It’s not always about the money. In fact, most people aren’t inspired by money at all. They are inspired by what it allows them to do when they don’t have to worry about it. The inspirational book ‘Living an Abundant Life’ is a great way to expand your thinking about what abundance can mean to different people and how they created abundance in their life.

Stop Comparing

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others – 6 Dominant Techniques on What You Need to Know

by: Amanda Walker

Have you ever heard that old saying “Do not compare your insides to his outside”? While the saying might be intended to teach a lesson about comparing your personal emotions to what others emotions seem to be about the same situation, the advice is still solid – don’t compare yourself to others. But that advice can be hard to follow, no matter if you are talking about emotions, jobs, spouses, cars, and the list goes on and on. And not following it? That can be even worse, and can have devastating effects on your personal happiness, and on the relationships you have with others. So how can you stop comparing yourself to others?

1. First, you must decide what it is that you want out of life. Why compare yourself to an award winning novelist, if that isn’t even what you want out of life? By focusing on what you want out of life and the path you are taking to get there, it’s easier to stop comparing yourself, and the path you are taking, to that of others.

2. Be aware. When you find yourself comparing, make a conscious effort to stop. When you refuse to play into the myth of social hierarchy, you are free to be happy with the path you have chosen. You also give others permission to be happy with their path.

3. Support the success of others. When you are supportive of and happy for others and their success, you don’t have time to be bitter toward them for their success. And you don’t have time to compare yourself to them.

4. Remember, there are always going to be people who have more than you do. The key to being happy with yourself, and to stop comparing yourself to others and what they have, is to realize that what you have is enough.

5. When you feel yourself slipping, count your blessings. Really – make a numbered list, and write down every single thing you are blessed with and grateful for. You’ll feel happier about what you do have long before you run out of blessings to write down.

6. Learn that imperfection is okay. Internalize it. None of us are perfect, and striving for “perfect” is a fool’s errand – life isn’t perfect. This can go right back to the idea of being happy with what you have, not with what you think is perfect.

These are just a few simple ways to stop comparing yourself to others. As you can see, it’s less about stopping a behavior, and more about learning to think differently about your life, the path you have chosen for yourself, and the things and people in it.

Master Painful Moments with Gratitude

Being Grateful – A Key to Fulfillment

By

gratitude-rotator If you find yourself frustrated by your life and dissatisfied with where you’re at right now, you’re not alone. Many people find themselves in a place of aggravation and stagnation. It’s completely possible for you to change that in your own life, however, and it starts with being grateful.

You’ve probably heard that being grateful is important, and maybe you’ve even given it a brief try. Every year at Thanksgiving you mumble about being grateful for your home, your family, and maybe even for your job. However, it’s easy to forget what we’re grateful for and let the frustrations and challenges of life overwhelm everything.

The problem with this approach is that it’s very general and easy to gloss over. When you’re dwelling on the negative you tend to think very specifically about what’s wrong. In fact, you probably “nit-pick” over exactly what’s horrible about the current situation! You need to reverse that and apply it to what you’re grateful about.

Don’t say that you’re grateful for your home. Say you’re grateful for the hot water heater that lets you take long, steamy showers. Say you’re grateful for the comfy couch you can sink into every night. Don’t just say you’re grateful for your spouse. Say you’re grateful for how they make sure the trash is at the road every week, or how they hold you when you go to sleep at night. Say you’re grateful that your mom loves you and calls to check on you every week (even if that’s annoying sometimes!) Specifics help you remain grateful.

bigstock_Gratitude_22724237 Make a list. Keeping a short list of things you’re grateful for can be very helpful. Put this list in your pocket, your wallet, or your purse. You don’t have to let anyone else see this. But if you’re having a really tough day, pulling this list out and reading it somewhere private can help you count your blessings. It can give you the inspiration you need to get back out into the world and take action. Taking action is very important to change and fulfillment – you’ll never have the life you desire if you don’t take serious action to get it. Gratefulness forms the raw power you need to achieve your dreams.

Now take what you’re grateful for specifically, and your list of things you’re grateful for, and put them in the eye of your mind. That’s right, you need to imagine them. See them as if they were a movie playing in front of your eyes. Look at how those thoughts make you feel. Happy? Pleased? Motivated? Take those feelings and a create a few affirmations from them. “I am happy I have someone that loves me deeply.” “I have countless things that bring me joy.” “I live in abundance.”

When you say those affirmations, bring those happy images and emotions from being grateful into the affirmations. You can even picture those things you’re grateful for. You can also create new, grateful images to go with your affirmations. This is a powerful technique for helping to keep yourself motivated and moving forward., and to find lasting fulfillment with your life.
