Spend Time With Your Family
By Wallace Chua
Having a family is literally a blessing and is one of the greatest joys one can experience. To be very frank, if you think wisely, none us struggle for ourselves. Parents struggle in order to provide a better life to the children and the children study hard to make their parents proud. So you see the results of all the activities, and tasks are ultimately related to the family. However, most of us wrap and occupy ourselves in the importance of money and other things that we totally end up ignoring the family and small things which can get us real joy. It is very vital to spend time with your family. Spending time with the family helps members to grow close to each other and develop deep understanding.
Family partition among brothers and uncles was always a common thing. However, recently partition between father and child has erupted on the scene and has become very common. The main reason of partition has always been the lack of communication. Family which does not spend quality time together cannot understand each other and unknowingly develop a wall in between them, which later takes the form of misunderstanding, quarrels and hence partition. One should always remember the fact, that the family is the biggest possession. No matter how deep the disagreements are there within each other, family members shall always stand as a strong shield in all rough and tough situations.
We have the habit of taking things for granted. However, don’t take spending time with your family as granted as because it is one of those importance things whose presence is only felt once you lose it. Time passes by very quickly, money can be earned, jobs may be lost and gained but time spent with a family can never be replaced or replenished by something else. Most of us often look back and realize that it would have been so better if we could have spent time with our family. However, it is also one of those things which cannot be recovered in due course of time. Spending time with the children leaves a strong incredible impact on them as they grow up. Whatever is inflicted on them, they have the tendency to reverse the same to their parents as well as their children. According to a research, it has been revealed that kids which are a part of close knitted family fare much better than other kids, which belong to family, where hardly members spend time together. Kids from closely knitted families are less likely to indulge in bad habits, develop emotional stress, engage in violence, have suicidal thoughts and adopt a bad company.
Spending with the family does not mean spending the whole day together and neglecting all the essential work. A short phone call, daily breakfast and dinner together, consulting each other for small issues and spending considerable quality time on Sundays and holidays can make the crucial difference. Spending time with the family pays long term dividends and it’s never too late to start.
