3 Ways To Startup Your Momentum

3 Ways to Get Momentum to Achieve Your Goals

By

iStock 000014997757Small1 3 Ways To Startup Your Momentum Momentum is a precious commodity when you are attempting to achieve a goal. Momentum is the jet fuel needed to reach your goal. Let’s take a look at how you get momentum and then keep momentum.

#1 Consistent Activity

Yes, consistent activity is a simple answer, but it is the best way to get and keep momentum. How many times have you watched a football team beat their rival and then next week lose to the worst team in the conference? They went and achieved a goal they set of beating their rival. But then the next week they went out and “laid an egg” and got beat by a team they should beat without even trying. The answer is losing momentum and focus.

The team thought since they beat their rival the rest of the teams would rollover and they did not have to try anymore. This is an example of how quickly a team or a person can lose momentum.

We all have experienced momentum as some point in time. We finally overcame a hurdle that always stopped us in the past or did something we never did before. The moment when you finally pushed past the obstacle is the time you need to keep doing the activity. Too many people feel they finally arrived, but do not realize they still have a little further to go to reach their full potential.

#2 Put in More Firewood

happy woman after a run 3 Ways To Startup Your Momentum Life is series of goals. No one finally “arrives.” The world is full of one hit wonders. For one week or one month they were best at what they do. However, they quit doing what they did to “arrive” in the first place. Rock bands are a prime example of one hit wonders. They even have TV shows for them and we can see what they are doing now. Most never recaptured that initial momentum when they had a hit song. It takes dedication and hard work to keep momentum for years at a time.

Look at bands like U2 and Metallica who have been producing quality records for over 25 years. Both have a large fan base of fans of all ages. Both bands know how to keep putting firewood in the furnace called momentum. Keeping momentum requires focus and pushing yourself to become better.

The firewood is developing more goals to achieve. This is how to keep momentum in your life. A basic goal many people in the sales business use is their annual income. If you never earned $100,000 in a year, but then finally this year you achieved this goal what should you do? The average person would celebrate for the first 3 months of the next year and then drift back to their normal level of income. The above average would look at the momentum they created and set a goal of $150,000 to earn the next year.

You want to keep pushing yourself to new levels of success after breaking through to your goal.

#3 Fight Discouragement

motivation 3 Ways To Startup Your Momentum On our journey towards our goals we will run into people who ask why you are still going after your goal. It is very discouraging to have people question your ability. The other obstacle is questioning ourselves and if we are doing the right thing or not. At this very moment we need to create momentum. Take a look at the first six letters of momentum. It is the word moment.

One of the problems many people have is they do not realize at a certain moment they have momentum. The reason being is we are distracted by all the activity around us in our daily lives. We are trying so hard to achieve our goals that one little discouraging word from someone or worse ourselves stops the momentum.

You need to treat momentum like precious and fragile jewelry. We work so hard to get the momentum we sometimes lose focus and drop the fragile jewelry and watch it break.

Do not let this happen to your momentum and goals. When you feel the energy to work you need to work twice as hard because if you rest the moment will be gone just like your momentum.

The Next Level of Your Business

Take Your Small Business To The Next Level

By

blogging to next level 500x470 300x282 The Next Level of Your Business Now that you have built a successful business, you have an established customer base and you are fairly well known in your geographical area, your industry or both, what do you do to stay ahead of your competition? You might want to consider the following tips to help you to expand your business.

The following are tips to help you increase the size of your business and take it to the next level.

  1. Open another location. Either open another location or move into an office space if you are currently working from a home office. This may not be the best choice for expansion; however, it is the first thing business owners often do. If you are thinking of doing this, be sure you are maintaining a consistent bottom-line profit and that you have shown steady growth over the past few years. You also want to ensure your infrastructure, staff and your systems can accommodate the growth. Finally, research the demand of taking this next step and how it will affect your decision.

  2. Expand your product or service lines to compliment the ones you currently have. This will allow you to offer more selection and it makes your products and services more appealing to your customer base. However, first, you need to conduct market research to determine which products and/or services are in demand, which would be profitable for you, and which would be affordable to your customers.

  3. corporate culture 300x199 The Next Level of Your Business Find ways to increase repeat business for your current customers. This is a lot less expensive than locating new customers. Initiate reorder cards that you can send out to remind customers to reorder products and/or services when you want them to, not just when they remember to do so. Contact them more often with a monthly or bi-monthly newsletter via email or mail to ensure the customer is keeping you on the top of their minds for additional sales. Consider developing volume sales discounts, monthly rates, or other discounts to entice them to purchase more at a time or for a longer period of time than instead of just a single sale. If you can, try to get your customer to contract with your business, if your business is set up to do so.

  4. Update your Website or develop a new one if you do not have one. Be sure to add monthly specials, discounts and/or promotions on your site – especially on the home page to attract attention. Ensure individuals/businesses visiting your site sign up in order to qualify to win a drawing or receive a discount, so that you can add them to your database. You can also add products and/or services to sell online. If done correctly, this adds sales and reduces the time necessary to locate these sales. These are typically bonus sales above and beyond anything you would normally sell since they are from a different ‘group’ of people.

  5. Target other markets. Only do this if you have already saturated your primary target market. For example, if you sell to teens, consider beginning marketing your product and/or service to college students.

  6. next level1 300x188 The Next Level of Your Business Turn your business into a franchise or franchise opportunity. You will need to ensure you have developed all your operating systems needed in order to make your business a smooth-running machine first, however. You can network within the franchise industry.

  7. Add a partner or merge with another existing complimentary business. With the right agreement and business plan, taking this step can be beneficial to both parties involved. Be sure to hire a reputable attorney to review all the paperwork and look out for your best interests.

  8. Go global. Find alternate ways to market yourself globally if you do not already do so. Consider ways to tweak your business in order to offer your business and/or services to consumers outside your current area. Have you considered teleseminars, Webinars, shopping cart Websites, or search engines?

Personal Integrity and Your Goals

Personal Integrity – Be True to Yourself and Reach Your Goals

By

Reaching your goals 1 300x198 Personal Integrity and Your Goals Whatever goals you set for yourself, you need to remain motivated if you hope to reach them. One of the best ways to tackle a goal is to break it up into smaller and more manageable chunks. That’s very good advice. However, somewhere along the line most people lose their motivation and they no longer focus on the goals they once wanted to achieve so badly. This can make it difficult to reach the goals you set for yourself. A more consistent way to reach your goals is to always keep your personal integrity intact. That means being true to yourself, being true to your word, letting your actions speak for you and, most importantly, doing the right thing. As long as you always keep your mind focused on sticking to your commitments, you’ll reach your goals in no time.

Always Be True

Personal integrity starts from within. You should never let others try to dissuade you from your goals or from the tasks required to reach them. If you truly want to reach a goal, start by truly believing in yourself. Envision yourself accomplishing that goal. See yourself mastering that task in order to complete your smaller goals and imagine how good you’ll feel when you finally do reach your coveted goals. Always be true to yourself and your personal integrity will never waver.

integrity Personal Integrity and Your Goals Live Up to Your Word

Too many people tell others about their goals and then fail to follow-through on them. A good example of this is the person who tells everyone they know that they’re going to quit smoking, only to end up with a cigarette in their mouth a few days later. That’s not living up to your word. Failing to live up to your word not only knocks down your personal integrity, but also causes you to feel guilty about dropping the ball with your goals. Don’t feel guilty; just move on. Learn from the mistake and live up to your word next time. Commit to yourself that you’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish what you set out to do. Hold yourself accountable and those tasks necessary to reach your goals will become easier and easier.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

You already know that in order to maintain your personal integrity you should follow through on what you say you’re going to do. What we tell ourselves about a specific task sets the tone of how we view the difficulty of that task, but words are just that – words. They really don’t mean much when it comes to accomplishing your goals. What matters most is how quickly and efficiently you complete the tasks that you commit to finishing. Let your actions speak louder than your words and not only will your personal integrity remain strong, but the strength of your resolve will empower you to achieve any goals that you set for yourself.

Do the Right Thing

Personal integrity is not a part-time job. You should set out to do the right thing even when nobody else is around. If you promise to always do the right thing, even when no one is watching and it’s tempting to let yourself slide, your personal integrity and confidence will be grow stronger than you ever dreamed. Maintaining your integrity will not only help you achieve your goals, but it will also make you a better person – and doesn’t want to be a better person?
