NP: Aliens Presence in the Next 40 Years

The UFO debate finds itself in the spotlight again with some rather positive news. According to Martin Rees, former president of the Royal Society, the question concerning UFOs and alien life will be answered in the next 40 years. The search for extra solar life has been one of life’s major mysteries for consensus science as they constantly avoid the subject of exopolitics. Although there has been evidence that this case has long been solved, Lord Rees believes that astrophysicists will have the ability to view with clarity, extra solar planets with images in the year 2025. Lord Rees went as far to state the importance of science and the origin of life within the next forty years: “the origin of life, the place where it exists, and whether aliens exist, is going to be crucial.”




Lord Rees along with his extensive background within the Royal Society expressed with confidence that “within 10 or 20 years we will be able to image other planets like the earth, orbiting other stars.” There is a question of the budget that some researchers believe will damper the spirits of those eager to find the answer to this question. Reported in June, astronomers scanning the universe for alien life have run into a problem financially that could halt the 52 year program. Unless CSETI can fix their multimillion dollar budget problem, the public will have to wait for alien life to appear “officially.”




Back in 2010, Lord Rees commented that perhaps alien life was beyond human understanding. He even went as far as stating that “they could be staring us in the face and we just don’t recognise them. The problem is that we’re looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least have something like the same mathematics and technology.” This theory could hold truth as life could evolve in different forms within different environments. Lord Rees oddly compared the relation between a chimpanzee and its ability to understand quantum physics to human beings attempting to grasp alien technology. The capacity of the human brain may have difficulty venturing outside its normal parameters. Maybe aliens are living among us and remain impervious to our detection capabilities.




Dr. Frank Drake, the world’s leading UFO hunter, disagreed with Lord Rees in regards to whether aliens could contact us or not. He referred to digital technology and satellite TV as “noise” for aliens looking for contact. Currently, the Earth is surrounded by a 50 light year-wide “shell” of radiation from analogue/digital TV, radio and radar transmissions. Although the signals have spread far enough to reach many nearby star systems, they are rapidly vanishing in the emergence of digital technology. Is the Digital Age hindering contact with other intelligent races? Could this be the reason why signals sent from Earth might be intercepted as scrambled/garbled transmissions with no response?




Professor Paul Davies from Arizona State University suggested scientists search for Alien life here on Earth. “We need to give up the notion that ET is sending us some sort of customised message and take a new approach.” Professor Davies suggested that searching in deserts, volcanic vents, salt-saturated lakes and the dry valleys of Antarctica would be the ideal place to start. Searching in places where ordinary life struggles to survive, would merit discoveries of “weird” microbes that belong to a “shadow biosphere”. The main argument was to find arsenic based life forms, however other experts where very skeptical of the idea and considered it a waste of time. Some insisted that Mars would hold the answer if any, on alien life forms discovered in our solar system. As complex and interesting this debate is, it will be many years before consensus science decides to take the search for UFOs seriously. Even with the testimony and release of Colonel John Alexander and ex-CIA agent Chase Brandon stating that UFOs exist (with documented evidence) with craft from another planet, the science world will still continue searching for alien life outside our planet.
