By Jules Allen
These days life can often drag you down and make you feel unfulfilled, unhappy and incredibly stressed. Juggling work with family life can often seem like an impossible task and most of us just plod along from day to day making the most of what we have. However, by finding your purpose you could live such a happier, more fulfilled lifestyle.
The main question that is often asked is how does one find their purpose? By purpose does it mean the job you should be doing? Well your purpose might include the job that you should be doing, but it is also much more than that. It is about finding out who you really are.
What inspires you, what makes you the person who you are and what makes you different from everyone else. Then once you know, it is about living the way that you were intended to, doing what you want to do and what you are the best at doing.
The Benefits of Finding Your Purpose:
There are many benefits that come with finding your purpose and the main one is that you will be generally happier. No longer will you wake up with a knot in your stomach as you prepare for another stressful day. Instead you will look forward to the day ahead.
It is worth keeping in mind that even the most fulfilled people have to deal with stress. It is a natural part of life and a little stress can even be good for you. It can help you to perform better and move forward in life. Therefore don’t expect your purpose to take away all stress!
Another thing that your purpose will give you is confidence. When you know what you are aiming for, you have more confidence in achieving it. If you currently lack confidence then it is because you do not truly understand who you are and what your purpose is yet.
Think about your principles. What is most important to you? What are you passionate about? We naturally learn the most from things that we are interested in. When you follow your purpose it will typically be quite easy as it will be something that you are incredibly interested in and that you will enjoy finding out about. For example, if you realize that you are currently working in sales but your passion is to help people through counseling then the switch in career will be enjoyable as you learn the new skills needed for your chosen career.
Finding your purpose can have a positive effect on every aspect of your life. Remember, your purpose in life is about who you are as a person and your beliefs and principles that you live by.
