2014 International UFO Congress Day 1

The 23rd IUFOC brought one of the best turn outs to date and the array of varying topics from credible speakers garnered praises from many attendees. Here is a sampling of the speakers from Day 1 of the event.
Ted Peters:Date: Wednesday, February 12th
Time: 9:00 — 10:15 AM
UFO Abductions: Are They Spiritual?

Experiencers of Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind or even abductions interpret their experiences with political, scientific, and religious implications. Since the 1980s, abduction reports involving abductions leading to the birth of hybrid babies appear, on the surface, like sexual abuse with traumatic consequences. Still, abductees frequently claim their experiences have opened them up to their higher self, a sense of unity with nature, and to new dimensions of reality. Does this new sense of unity with ultimate reality become a substitute for belief in God? Or, is it a supplement and complement?
Stephen Bassett:Talk Synopsis: UFO Disclosure
Date: Wednesday, February 12th
Time: 10:30 — 11:45 AM

Disclosure (capital “D”) is the formal acknowledgment by world governments of an extraterrestrial (non-human) intelligence engaging
the human race. It is the primary goal of a growing truth advocacy movement, and it will be the most profound event in human history.
Much will have happened by the time of the 23rd International UFO Congress. Stephen will report on the progress with the United
Nations Joint Resolution Initiative, the Congressional Hearing Initiative, the Truth Embargo documentary, and other developments
Kim Carlsberg
Date:Wednesday, February 12, 2014
Time: 1:00 — 2:15 PM
Talk Synopsis: My Secret Life Comes Full Circle: One Woman’s Account of Eight Years of Alien Abduction, and The Effects Withstanding Today

Kim Carlsberg, was not only one of the first women to openly speak about the hybridization program within the alien abduction phenomenon, but went on to powerfully, visually illustrated the depth and complexity of her many contacts, through vivid color, in her first book: “Beyond My Wildest Dreams: Diary of a UFO Abductee”, published in 1995.

The result stands unique amid the abduction writings of the time.

There was little known, or written about alien abduction in the 1980′s. Pre-internet, researching a subject that was barely known or named, was tantamount to a scavenger hunt. Kim’s courage and commitment to uncovering and sharing the truth of her haunting encounters cost her immensely. Striving to maintain sanity in her “normal” life that became battered with extreme heights of anguish, mental exhaustion and sleep deprivation, was monumentally challenging. But with the help of a few close friends, Kim was not only able to manage, but to eventually become one of the most credible witnesses to the most incredible phenomenon on Earth.
Owls, Synchronicity, and the UFO Abductee:

Mike Clelland
Date: Wednesday, February 12th
Time: 2:30 — 3:45 PM
Mike Clelland began his study of the UFO abduction phenomenon in 2006 as a way to better understand his own personal experiences. This act of looking unleashed a flood of synchronicities as well as intense owl sightings. These events have been the focus of his ongoing research. Both owls and profound synchronicities seem to play a guiding role in the direct experience of some abductees, this connection points to a deeper reality at play in these mysteries. By looking at these elusive and often ignored aspects of the abduction lore, something truly mystical seems to be revealing itself.

Robert Powell
Date: Wednesday, February 12th
Time: 4:00 — 5:30 PM
Talk Synopsis: UFOs & Government: The Historical and Changing Role of Government over Time

Governments have been concerned about UFO sighting reports since WWII, but historians have never made a concerted attempt to understand their often contradictory responses to the phenomenon. How could something of such potential technological and national security consequence have left no visible trace in the history books? Whether it’s a conspiracy or not, the subject has been marginalized to such an extent that it’s as if the military never acted with alarm on the heels of a UFO sighting, as if the intelligence community never took up the issue behind closed doors, as if government research and development efforts never attempted to duplicate the phenomenon. But they have. Robert Powell will discuss how governments, especially the U.S. government, have dealt with the UFO phenomenon and will provide a hypothesis as to why the phenomenon took its roots during WWII.
