Every day, you may meet various people, some of whom you may only meet for the first time but are quite important ones. And a good impression will be very critical to your success. In many social occasions like a job interview, you are also required to make your first impression good enough to attract your interviewers. Here are some general guidelines to help you.

Firstly, proper dress will be a vital part for better impression. Maybe you believe that it is the fashion to make you look casual, but it is totally the truth that formal dress is still very important. You do not need to wear the latest style or the classic ones. What you should do is to make yourself look suitable for the occasion. Different occasions require different suits. Appropriate suits for the occasion will definitely make you more confident and ease. And you can get more useful advice from your friends or some designers.

Secondly, you should be positive while showing your specialty. When you try to make good first impression, be confident in yourself will make your presentation more natural and some body language will sure help you. When you make some conversation with others for the first time, you may feel nervous, keeping positive will make you feel ease so that your performance will be better. Some eye contacts or smiles show your politeness. And some proper humors can also give others some good impression, but you should consider more carefully before you use it.

Thirdly, make your speaking clearly and easy to understand and necessary listening and observation skills are also required. When you first meet somebody, the best way to make that person know you well is to communicate in a clear way. You are required to listen with attention and observe others’ moods carefully. More often, it is a little difficult for you to please everyone we encounter as you cannot know their likes or dislikes beforehand.
